Methadone Maintenance Treatment

Methadone Maintenance Treatment

The goal of our outpatient methadone maintenance program is to stabilize patients so they can maintain independent, productive lives. Our programs specialize in recovery through medication-assisted therapy, counseling, and support services.

Treatment begins with a comprehensive clinical assessment, physical, and development of an individualized treatment plan to meet the specific and unique needs of the client. Once clients are stabilized on the appropriate dose of medication, continuing clinical care is provided. We have an “open door” policy in that in addition to required monthly counseling sessions, clinicians are available to meet the many and varied needs of the client at all times.

When taken as directed and at the appropriate dose, methadone has been proven to suppress symptoms of opioid withdrawal, decrease cravings for opioids, reduce illicit opioid use, block the effects of other opioids, and help patients stay committed to treatment.

This unique combination of services allows patients to rid their system of toxic substances in the most comfortable and convenient manner available, and to return to normal life drug-free. As patients progress with treatment, they may begin making less frequent visits to the clinic and administering their own medications at home – all with the support of their therapist and the clinic staff. Treatment continues until the individual has mastered the basic skills for self-care and ongoing recovery.

Our Outpatient Methadone Maintenance program is designed for adults, 18 and over who have been addicted to opiates (heroin, vicodin, morphine, oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine) for 1 year or longer.

No appointment is necessary for intake. To enroll, please come to the program with a picture ID, social security card (if possible), and the intake fee (varies by location).
